Garry Monk's Birmingham City have emerged as surprise play-off contenders this season and they head into the festive period just four points adrift of the top six.

The Blues picked up a vital three points in midweek as they beat Millwall at The Den 2-0, to keep the pressure on their promotion rivals.

One of the main reasons as to why Birmingham are in play-off contention is due to the impressive goalscoring records of Che Adams and Lucas Jutkiewicz.

The pair have scored 18 goals between them, which is over half of Birmingham's overall goal tally in the Championship this season.

Adams in particular has impressed in recent seasons and the Blues face a nervous January transfer window with a number of clubs surely chasing the forward who has the ability to be playing in the top-flight in the near future.

But what could Adams do to elevate his game to the next level with Garry Monk's side?

Find out here....

It's no secret that Adams and Jutkiewicz are one of the deadliest strike partnerships in the Championship this season and they will be keen to build on their impressive start.

The duo have 18 goals between them but Adams will have to work closer to Lukas Jutkiewicz to provide Birmingham with more of an attacking threat.

At times, Adams have been drawn out to wide positions, which has left Garry Monk's side with a lack of options around Jutkiewicz who is a dominant presence in the penalty area.

Although Adams is an in-form striker, he will have to produce the goods on a more regular basis if he is to take his game to the next level.

If Birmingham don't win promotion this season, he could be tempted to sign for a Premier League club and if he does that, he will need to be scoring on a more consistent basis to what he currently is with the Blues.
