Adam Reach has revealed that he is happy with his individual contribution in a disappointing season for the club, speaking to George Smith.

The 25-year-old has improved on a promising first season to be one of Wednesday's top performers.

He hasn't missed a league game this season with the 2-1 loss to Millwall being the only game that he didn't start.

His versatility has been key due to Jos Luhukay using him in a variety of roles such as central midfield and wing-back. Even with this change in position, he still has impressive numbers with four goals and eight assists in the league.

Here's what he had to say about the current season in an interview with George Smith: “I think, for me, it has been an improvement on last season and that is what I am trying to do as a player and a person – improve every game."

I think I have done that. But, unfortunately, it has come in a disappointing season for the club. But I try to keep my standards and performances as high as I can."

Hopefully I can continue to do that and finish this season with confidence, but also disappointment for what the team has done."

I can go away and be proud of what I have done this season but also want to improve for next season.

The Verdict

Reach has every right to be proud of his season so far. He has been one of the bright sparks in a disappointing season for the Owls, but the issues with the squad are out of his hands.

Fans can only ask players to give their all and that is what Reach has done, so it's good to see that he is enjoying his time at the club especially because he came with a big price tag to his name.

He will play a key part next season, so hopefully he can replicate his form from this season. Although he does seem to have less of an impact in the middle, so it would be wise for Luhukay to move him back to the wings.
