Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has admitted that he will be watching the game between promotion rivals Sheffield United and Ipswich Town tomorrow night.

The Blades are in action against the Championship's bottom club at Bramall Lane and will all-but confirm their promotion to the Premier League with a victory.

Leeds' automatic promotion hopes suffered a major blow last weekend, when the team lost back-to-back games against Wigan Athletic and Brentford, handing Sheffield United the advantage in the promotion race.

The Whites are now third in the Championship table, three points behind the Blades and have an inferior goal difference.

Leeds face Aston Villa at Elland Road on Sunday lunchtime and desperately need a win to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive.

Forshaw was speaking to the media alongside head coach Marcelo Bielsa at a press conference on Friday and admitted that he will be watching Sheffield United against Ipswich, calling it a 'massively important' game for Leeds.

The Verdict:

Forshaw is right. The game between Sheffield United and Ipswich is absolutely crucial for Leeds United and the Championship's promotion race.

If the Blades win, it will almost certainly mean that Leeds will have to settle for a place in the play-offs this season.

Whatever happens at Bramall Lane tomorrow night, the Leeds players cannot afford to let it distract them from their game against Villa on Sunday where they simply have to win to stand any chance of finishing in the top two.
