Adam Forshaw continues to be sidelined through injury as Leeds head into the festive period, with no return date being set for the 28-year-old.

Forshaw and some of his Leeds United team-mates had a festive meal together recently though, with the midfielder posting an image on Instagram.

But one Leeds supporter wasn't as friendly as others in the comment section, and questioned whether Forshaw would play again for the Whites in the next five years.

This message provoked a response from Forshaw, who issued a one-word message back to the supporter, and the midfielder evidently wasn't impressed.

Forshaw has made eight appearances in total this season, but has been ruled out of Leeds' last 13 games which will be frustrating for both the midfielder and Marcelo Bielsa who will be keen to have him back in the first-team picture at the earliest of opportunities.

He has been impressive when available for the Whites, and will know that he faces a tough test to work his way back into the starting XI when he's back fit, with Leeds currently sat second in the Championship table.

Leeds are back in action this weekend, when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage, in a game which could go a long way in deciding whether they're to win promotion back into the Premier League automatically.

The Verdict:

It's a shame that he hasn't featured as much as he would have liked to this season.

I think Forshaw is underrated in this Leeds United team, and he offers something that the likes of Mateusz Klich and Kalvin Phillips don't in the midfield.

Bielsa needs his key players back in action for the remainder of this year's campaign if they're to challenge for promotion, and Forshaw is certainly one of them.

I think the supporters' sly dig at Forshaw isn't needed at all, especially when Leeds are in such a strong position heading into the hectic festive period.
