Marcelo Bielsa's former translator Salim Lamrani has taken to social media to praise Leeds United's Adam Forshaw.

In a short blog post he commented on the progress of the midfielder over the last 12 months and what it has taken him to reach his current impressive form, which has gained plaudits from former Leeds players.

It is not just his performances and playing ability which Lamrani remarks upon, however, and instead he is more impressed with Forshaw's mindset and his determination to succeed, as well as his personable characteristics.

The former Middlesbrough man has had to overcome adversity in recent months, struggling with injury for most of last season - which saw him make only 19 Championship starts - after he picked up a serious injury in pre-season last summer.

Lamrani describes the 27-year-old as 'unbeatable' - he has even nicknamed him that - and admires his spirit of never giving up, which could be key throughout the season in gaining promotion.

Lamrani's social media post reads as follows: "Adam was the first player to suffer a serious injury during our first pre-season during which he had excelled both physically and technically. Confronted with this injustice, far from collapsing, he showed an extraordinary resilience and redoubled his efforts to recover his best level, showing a strength of character worth of great players.

"He is unbeatable because he always refuses to give up when faced with adversity. In the difficult moments, he constantly tries to learn the necessary lessons, to find the positive side of things in order to lift his teammates' spirit and to forge ahead. From a human point of view, amiability and politeness are two admirable features of his personality.

"Every morning, when he arrives at the training ground of Thorp Arch, he takes care of greeting every single employee by shaking their hands. He hasn't missed this ritual not even once, which underlines the qualities of his person. Adam Forshaw always enhances a group both with his professionalism and his human virtues."

Forshaw's personality is also touched upon, most notably his care and respect for other staff and people at the club, which Lamrani believes helps to 'enhance the group', and makes him a valuable member of Bielsa's squad off the pitch.

The Verdict

Forshaw has proved throughout pre-season and in his first two Championship matches that he could become a very important player for Leeds this season.

He is back to full fitness and beginning to display to Leeds fans what he can offer on a consistent basis, and he hasn't gone unnoticed or unappreciated.

Promotion campaigns rely on players' ability but they also rely on strong squad harmony, and characters like Forshaw are vital in building a spirit which is required to get teams over the line, and Leeds were arguably lacking in this aspect compared to Sheffield United last season, which could be the reason why they lost out on promotion.
