Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has given his thoughts following Saturday's disappointing defeat to Swansea City.

Steve Cooper's side ran-out 1-0 winners at Elland Road to condemn the Whites to their first defeat of the season and leap ahead of them to the top of the table, but Forshaw believes the result did not reflect the performances.

Taking to Instagram, Forshaw wrote, alongside a photograph of himself mid-match: "Tough one to take on Saturday. We deserved more. Support was unbelievable again."

There was nothing to seperate the Championship's top-two teams for 90 minutes before Wayne Routledge popped up in the Leeds area in injury time to scuff home the winner.

It left Bielsa's side in third-place going into the international break with a trip to Barnsley waiting for them when they return to Championship action.

Forshaw has once again been a regular in Marcelo Bielsa's side this season, playing in all five of their league games so far and contributing one assist.

He made 30 appearances last season as the Whites agonisingly missed out on promotion back to the Premier League.

The verdict

I personally don't buy into 'deserving more from a game'.

It is a match that Leeds should have really won but did not. Swansea played their gameplan perfectly and deserved to take all three points.

Licking their wounds will not do Leeds any good. They need to look at what went wrong and where and learn from it and I would be very surprised if Bielsa does not do that.

They have a great opportunity to bounce back with a Yorkshire derby a week on Saturday and that is what they need to focus on now.
