Adam Forshaw has posted an update on Instagram to show fans that he is on the mend following his successful surgery to solve an ongoing hip injury.

The Leeds United midfielder has had a torrid season, in which he played his last game of the campaign back in September against Charlton Athletic. The former Middlesbrough man started the season extremely well, helping Leeds to get their season off to a flier in the hunt for automatic promotion.

His work in the middle of the park was a massive reason for why Leeds were able to dominate so many games at the start of the season and restrict their opponents to very little in the way of chances or possession.

However, what appeared to be a minor hip injury sustained against Swansea City has seen him caused massive problems, to which he only managed 45 minutes against Charlton in the back end of September and has since not played.

His season was ended by this injury when the club flew him to Colorado to fully overcome this problem. The operation was a success and now Forshaw is on the road to recovery, to which he posted a humorous update on

The process to get him back to full fitness will see him miss the rest of the season and return to the Leeds squad in time for pre-season in the 2020/21 campaign.

Can you name these Leeds players based on their previous clubs?

The verdict

It’s good to see that Forshaw is tackling such a horrific situation in good spirits and managing to get his head down to recover as well as he can.

While Leeds have managed to cope relatively well without him in the side since the early stages of the season, it’s still a huge blow to lose him for the season.

Forshaw’s midfield prowess was a major reason for how the Whites were able to dominate so many games in the early part of the season and they have missed his calming influence in that time.

Marcelo Bielsa will have to work with his squad at least one man light for the rest of the season but there is a lot of talent in his side, especially in the middle of midfield.
