Adam Armstrong, David Brooks, Tyrese Campbell: GMS Fans’ Championship Player of the Month – November

The Championship rarely fails to provide entertainment and excitement, and it was certainly no different in November.

Derbies, late goals, remarkable comebacks, manager’s axed, replacements found, and plenty of drama – it was a good month to be a fan of the English second tier.

There were some outstanding individual performers as well and they’ve been rewarded with a place on the shortlist for the GMS Fans’ Championship Player of the Month for November.

But who deserves to take the award? We’ve broken down their exploits to give you all the information you need before you cast your vote…

Adam Armstrong – Blackburn Rovers

Another nomination for the Rovers striker, who has shown no signs of slowing down this season and is the Championship’s top scorer.

November was an impressive month for Tony Mowbray’s men, seeing them go unbeaten and take 11 points from five games, and Armstrong’s goals were key to that.

The 23-year-old found the net four times in his four games in November as his scary combination of rapid pace, clever movement, and lethal finishing saw him cause constant issues for opposition sides.

David Brooks – Bournemouth

After missing much of the first few months of the season due to injury, in November Brooks showed all the qualities that had Premier League clubs circling in the summer.

The winger has reminded us of his qualities both as a goalscorer (scoring twice) and a creator (providing three assists) as he helped his side climb to second in the Championship.

His range of passing and quick feet make him a real joy to watch and there have been plenty of dazzling moments that illustrate why he looks to have a future in the top tier.

Tyrese Campbell – Stoke City

The 20-year-old has followed up an impressive 2019/20 campaign with a sensational first three months of this term, with his performances in November highlighting just what an exciting talent he is.

Five goal contributions (four goals and one assist) in five games only tell part of the story as Campbell has consistently run defences ragged.

The former Manchester City youth player will no doubt be turning heads as we approach January, the Potters will just have to hope that his recent long-term contract extension puts any potential buyers off.

Carel Eiting – Huddersfield Town

The results did perhaps not reflect it but the progress was clear to see at Huddersfield over the last month, with the Terriers’ identity starting to become clear under Carlos Corberan.

Eiting has been central to that and the Dutchman’s footballing intelligence has earned him a place on this list – he is unmistakably a product of the Ajax youth system.

Not only did the 22-year-old contribute three goals and an assist in the month of November, but his tireless and often tenacious work without the ball in central midfield was also hugely important for his side.

David Raya – Brentford

Thomas Frank’s men haven’t quite hit the heights of last season yet but there have been some sterling individual performances.

Raya was superb for the Bees throughout November, keeping clean sheets in three of their five Championship games, while conceding just three times in that period and making 10 saves in total.

The Spaniard drew links to Premier League clubs in the summer on the back of a fantastic debut season with Brentford and he looks to have

Zak Vyner – Bristol City

The Robins academy product has been ever-present in the starting XI this term and cemented his place as one of the first names on the team sheet.

Whether in a back three or a back four, Vyner’s intelligence and speed mean he is so often there to tidy things up for City – making a mammoth 19 interceptions and 15 clearances in November.

He is confident and undoubtedly capable when he regularly brings the ball out from the back too, which has made him one of the standout players for a Robins side that are battling for a top-six place.
