‘Actually played alright’ – Many Nottingham Forest fans react to 32-year-old’s performance against Middlesbrough

Nottingham Forest fell to their first defeat under Chris Hughton this afternoon, with the Reds losing 1-0 to Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

Forest have certainly started to pick up under Hughton, who replaced Sabri Lamouchi at the helm over two weeks ago.

The Reds went into this one unbeaten, after yielding one win and three draws from their opening four league games under the 61-year-old.

Bob McKinlay made more appearances for Forest than any other player

But their unbeaten run game to an end this afternoon, with Marvin Johnson’s goal on 81 minutes securing another home win for Neil Warnock’s Boro.

One talking point before the game had even began was the inclusion of Gaetan Bong, who made only his second appearance for the club since arriving from Brighton in January.

Bong – who played under Hughton at Brighton – replaced the suspended Nicholas Ioannou, with Tyler Blackett out injured and Yuri Ribeiro once again overlooked.

Bong looked solid for the large part, but it was header which led to George Saville crossing for Johnson who fired home from close-range.

Some Forest fans have reacted to his performances, with many left disappointed following the Reds’ late defeat on the road…
