Bolton Wanderers have beaten Bradford City 2-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly match as Phil Parkinson’s side’s disrupted preparations for the new season continue.
The Trotters saw off the League Two outfit courtesy of goals from Dennis Politic and Luke Murphy, as Wanderers attempt to prepare for the new season despite not taking part in a public friendly match.
The club’s takeover troubles have seen friendly matches cancelled, with Saturday’s scheduled clash against Oldham Athletic being the latest to fall victim to the uncertainty surrounding the club.
However, Bolton were able to field a side for this friendly match in private and The Bolton News journalist Marc Iles has shared news of the line-up he believes Parkinson fielded:
Best I can tell, the #bwfc line up was: Matthews, Brockbank, Wheater, Adam Thompson, Boon,
O’Neil (!), Oztumer, Lowe, Murphy, Politic, Magennis. Second half subs included Conway, Pringle and Zouma.

Plenty of Bolton supporters responded to this update, as there had been much doubt over which players are still expected to be at the club next season. Many Wanderers fans appeared to be pleasantly surprised by the line-up which featured some big names.
Here are some of the responses…
