The club have announced that four members of the senior squad will not be offered a new deal and are free to leave on the expiry off their contracts.

The news was confirmed today on the club’s website. The four players that have been released are – Danny Webber, Laurence Wilson, Luke Clark and George Miller.

32-year-old striker Danny Webber is the biggest shock out of the released group of four. He had played 22 league games whilst scoring only three times. He did though help out with the younger players at the club and matured them to an extent so his departure from the club may be a shock to some Stanley fans.

Luke Clarke and George Miller both joined the club in the summer of 2012 and have made 13 and 33  appearances for the club respectively.

Full-back Laurence Wilson joined the club in January 2013 and went on to make a total of 33 games for the club.

Manager James Beattie had this to say, “Making these tough decisions is one of the most unpleasant experiences of being a manager. I’d like to thank all four lads for their service and wish them all the best for the future.”

All remaining players at the club whose contracts are due to expire will be offered new deals.
