Wolves have seen an ambitious bid for Portuguese international striker Andre Silva rejected by AC Milan, according to Italian outlet Corriere Della Sera.

The bid, thought to be in the region of £35m, is yet another huge show of intent by Nuno Santo's men, who are hoping to use the sway of Jorge Mendes - Silva's agent - to get a superstar through the door at Molineux.

Silva has 11 goals in 18 caps for Portugal, played at last summer's Confederations Cup and has scored six goals in six Europa League matches for Milan this season.

He is yet to score in Serie A, despite making 12 appearances, as his big-money summer move from Porto to the seven-time Champions League winners has not quite panned out as planned.

The Verdict

What a coup this would be. Despite his teething problems in Milan, Silva is hot property and was one of the most sought after strikers of the summer before moving to the San Siro.

It would be an incredible show of strength by Wolves but the report appears to suggest that Milan are not willing to sell at any price, despite Mendes' influence.
