Plenty of Ipswich Town fans have reacted on social media after the club confirmed that winger Ellis Harrison has left the club to join Portsmouth.

The 25-year-old winger has signed a three-year deal at Fratton Park for an undisclosed fee, after impressing with Ipswich last season.

Harrison scored one goal in 16 Championship appearances for Ipswich last season, as Paul Lambert’s side finished bottom of the second tier.

The winger joined the club from Bristol Rovers on a two-year deal last summer, but struggled with injuries throughout his first and only season at Portman Road.

Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett is looking to build a team that will challenge for promotion next season, after guiding Pompey to the League One play-off semi-finals and to a Checkatrade Trophy victory at Wembley last season.

Ipswich will also be hoping to challenge for promotion next season following their relegation from the Championship and Harrison will come up against his former teammates when the two sides meet at Fratton Park on December 21.

The news caused quite a reaction from Ipswich fans on social media, with many of them disappointed with Lambert’s decision to sell the winger to one of their promotion rivals for next season.
