Craig Forsyth is understood to have signed a new contract extension at Derby County, reports from Derbyshire Live claim.

The defender has been a key player for the Rams under Phillip Cocu this season, since returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury.

The 31-year-old returned to the side in a 1-0 win over Preston in November, since making 18 appearances for the East Midlands club in all competitions this term.

Forsyth - who is currently Derby's first choice left-back but has also operated as a centre-half this season - is set to be out of contract at Pride Park this summer.
