QPR showed great determination to grind a 3-2 victory over Middlesbrough last night, after playing more than 40 minutes with ten men.

Both sides went into yesterday evening’s contest unbeaten from their opening two games, after both secured a draw on matchday one, before proceeding to win their second games of the season.

Uche Ikpeazu fired the hosts into the lead in the seventh minute from the penalty spot, before a Jonny Howson own goal levelled the contest just after half time.

Moses Odubajo was then sent off a couple of minutes later, but Lyndon Dykes gave The R’s the lead in the 56th minute.

Matt Crooks made it 2-2 in the 72nd minute, but Mark Warburton’s side regained the advantage 15 minutes from time via Chris Willock’s composed strike.

In what turned out to be a very spirited performance from the R’s, it was skipper Stefan Johansen who put in another mightily impressive performance.
