Tony Pulis' Middlesbrough side were given a real wake up call at the weekend as they were comfortably beaten 3-0 by promotion rivals Aston Villa.
Heading into the hectic festive period, Boro will be hoping they can stay in touch with league-leaders, Norwich City as the January transfer window approaches.
It could be a New Year of change at the Riverside with a potential reshuffle being lined up by the Middlesbrough boss as they look to strengthen their grip on a top six finish.
According to The Northern Echo, Britt Assombalonga could be one of the high-profile names that Pulis looks to offload in January to cut the hefty wage bill at the club.
Crystal Palace could be a potential destination for the striker who will be keen to rediscover his goalscoring form that saw him earn a move to Middlesbrough in the first place.
But do our FLW writers think that Assombalonga would be a good addition for Crystal Palace?
We discuss...
Gary Hutchinson:
Yes, absolutely, they should be looking at signing him.
I genuinely think Assombalonga is Premier League quality. I can't for the life of me, find a reason as to why Boro would want to get rid of him.
It's madness getting rid of him, Middlesbrough don't deserve promotion.
George Harbey:
Assombalonga just isn't cut out for the Premier League I'm afraid.
He's been a decent goalscorer in the Championship over the last few years, but he's never really set the world alight.
A move to the top flight would be detrimental for him.
Louie Chandler:
I don't think they should be eyeing a deal for him.
He would not be a bad signing by any means, but Britt is hardly ruthless at Championship level so it would be a bit of a risk.
On his day, he is Premier League quality. But there are too many inconsistencies with his game.
