Derby County were knocked out of the Carabao Cup last night, losing to Barnsley 3-2 at Oakwell.
It was a close fought game but the Rams were hit by an 88th minute winner from former Huddersfield winger Adam Hammill.
The victory for Paul Heckingbottom’s side means the Tykes will be off to Wembley to face Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the Carabao Cup next week.
Barnsley twice came from behind to beat Gary Rowett’s men, and fans of the Yorkshire club now have an exciting tie with Premier League Spurs to look forward to.
It’s fair to say Derby fielded a weakened starting eleven against the Tykes, much to the dismay of many Rams fans on social media.
Fans of the Midlands outfit vented their frustration on Twitter after the full-time result last night, and many were unhappy with Rowett’s decision to play a far from full strength side.
Here’s the best reaction from the Derby fans after last night’s Carabao Cup exit:

Very poor management! Alway field your strongest team, they had your pants down!

Just once it'd be good if you think of the fans, field a strong team. Wembley would've been nice even for this-we don't get much else do we?

Gutted no Wembley @ObiangEsque

What a let down. Really hoped we'd carry on momentum and also push for 3rd round Wembley trip for fans

Why do we keep seeing "unlucky"?! It was Barnsley for crying out loud? If we really think we can get Prem we have to batter teams like this.
