Swansea City are demanding £12 million for Leeds United transfer target Daniel James, according to the print edition of The Sun on Sunday (27/1; page 63).

The winger has been on the Whites' radar for some time, with Marcelo Bielsa looking to add another playmaker to his ranks in preparation for the business end of the campaign.

But the Swans are reluctant to let the Wales international depart the Liberty Stadium this month - the winger has impressed under Graham Potter, making 20 appearances in all competitions this term.

Leeds have identified James as their number one transfer target with just a week left to go in the transfer window, having failed to secure deals for other transfer targets in Bristol City's Callum O'Dowda and Wolves' Ivan Cavaleiro.

It remains to be seen whether the Yorkshire club will cough up £12million for James, but for a player who has only regularly featured in the Championship for just one season is likely to be seen as a risky move.
