Last night, QPR fell to a 3-1 defeat in front of their home supporters at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium to their London rivals Brentford.

Just before the hour mark, referee Andy Woolmer made a controversial penalty decision when he awarded a spot kick to the visitors following a supposed trip by Josh Scowen on Bees winger Bryan Mbeumo.

Said Benrahma then obliged to take the spot kick, and fired high into the top corner past home keeper Liam Kelly to put Brentford 2-1 up at a crucial point of the game.

Before the goal, Ollie Watkins had headed home a cross from Mbeumo after creeping in between the two centre-backs to meet it, before QPR captain Grant Hall then powered home a header to bring things back level.

Then came the crucial penalty decision, followed by Watkins slotting in a Mathias Jensen cross to seal the three points and make sure that the Bees returned to Griffin Park victorious.

Brentford's win moves them up to 12th from 14th position in the table, and missing out on the three points prevented QPR from moving on up to second.
