Leeds United bounced back to top spot in the Championship following a 1-0 win over struggling Bolton Wanderers at the weekend, but the result does not seem to have stopped manager Marcelo Bielsa looking to bring in new recruits in the January transfer window, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Top of Bielsa's list is striker Ibai Gomez, who was Bielsa's free-kick specialist at Athletic Bilbao and he is keen to reunite with the 29-year-old at Elland Road.

Gomez currently plies his trade for Alaves in La Liga, but with his contract expiring in the summer, Leeds are optimistic of securing a deal in January.

So should Bielsa push to get Gomez signed?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

I think he should.

Leeds have plenty of firepower in attack.

Ibai Gomez has three goals in La Liga this season but dropping a level to the second tier in England, under Marcelo Bielsa, he could be the man to take them forward.

With Samuel Saiz on his way out of the club, a replacement is needed, and the 29-year-old could well be that player.

Gary Hutchinson

No, it’s a buyers’ market and Bielsa can wait. He can’t do a lot until January 1st anyway.

Lots of players will suddenly be available come the window opening, players we’ve not talked about already.

There’s no need to push anything through unduly and, knowing his transfer policy this summer, he won’t.

Alfie Burns

Absolutely, Orta needs to push this through – it’s the area that Leeds are lacking most going forwards.

An electric winger should be the number one target at Elland Road and Gomez is a standout option.

The 29-year-old has something that Leeds’ current options don’t have.
