New Derby County boss Frank Lampard believes Mason Mount would be ready for England, if Gareth Southgate picked him next month, after the England manager watched Mount produce an outstanding performance against Blackburn as reported in The Daily Mail.

Mount has been the standout player at the Rams this season and did everything but score in a 0-0 thriller, hitting the crossbar with an second-half free-kick and splitting open the Rovers defence several times, he was a constant threat.

Our team give their views on Mount's England prospects.

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

Absolutely, he’s breezed through the Championship so far, looking every inch a commanding and exciting player.

He’s young and if he carries on in this vein, surely, he’ll be a top player.

I can see it, Mount scoring for England in Qatar. Absolutely.

George Dagless

Not yet.

Potentially in the future but I think he needs to prove himself in the Premier League.

I like the idea of exceptional EFL talents getting a chance but they have to be exceptional - Mount is very good but needs to show it over a longer period yet.

Jay Taylor

There is potential for an England call-up, for sure.

Maybe not now as the 19-year-old is still learning the English game during his first domestic loan spell.

He has shown similarities to that of his current manager at his loan side, and that will only bode well for him in the future.

An England international in the future? I think so.
