‘Absolutely not’, ‘We can do better’ – Plenty of Lincoln City fans react to emerging managerial news

According to Nottinghamshire Live, former Notts County manager Kevin Nolan is interested in becoming the new manager of Lincoln City.

The Imps are on the lookout for a new boss following the departure of Danny Cowley to Huddersfield Town, with the 40-year-old leaving massive shoes to fill at Sincil Bank.

Cowley took Lincoln from the National League to the top-half of League One in the space of three years, but the Imps now have the difficult task of replacing their most successful manager.

The Daily Mail claims that Newport boss Michael Flynn is their number-one choice to replace Cowley, but it is now claimed by Nottinghamshire Live that Kevin Nolan is interested in the vacant role at Sincil Bank.

Nolan has been without a job since being sacked by Notts County last season – the 37-year-old was relieved of his duties just five games into the League Two campaign, despite investing heavily on new signings in the summer.

The former Bolton midfielder took charge of the Magpies in January 2017, with the club sitting one place above the relegation zone after losing 10 games in a row.

After steering the East Midlands side away from the drop to the National League, he then led them to the League Two play-off semi-finals in 2017/18, where they eventually lost to Coventry City over two legs.

Here, we take a look at what Imps fans have made about this latest news…
