Lewis Grabban bagged two goals as Aston Villa kept their promotion hunt on track with a fine 4-0 win against Ipswich Town.

Shortly afterwards, he took to Twitter to express his delight, drawing a round of praise from the Villa Park faithful that will likely strengthen the bond between player and club.

Grabban is on loan at Villa Park from Bournemouth, having spent the first half of the season at Sunderland.

Having scored 12 times for the Black Cats, he's added a further seven for Villa, making him the joint leading scorer in the second tier.

With his future still up in the air, many Villa fans replied to his celebratory tweet expressing a desire to keep him at the club, whilst others were full of praise both for his goal scoring prowess and for the ease with which he settled into the side.

Villa are now fourth in the table, four points behind Cardiff in second with two games left to play.

The likelihood is they'll be facing a two-legged play-off semi-final and possibly a huge final at Wembley to decide their immediate future.

Whatever the outcome, it seems as though their new darling is growing in popularity with every outing.

Here are how the Villa fans reacted to Grabban's tweet.
