A brace from John McGinn set Aston Villa on their way to see off Nottingham Forest last night.

The Scotsman netted two goals in eight minutes to give the away side the lead after an early Jack Colback goal opened the scoring in the game.

Kortney Hause added a third just after the hour mark to rubberstamp the three points.

It was a win that moved Dean Smith’s men to within two points of breaking into the top six, with Middlesbrough to play this weekend.

The 24-year-old doubled his goalscoring tally for Villa this term, moving onto four goals for the season.

But his influence was far more significant than just his brace.

McGinn was in near-perfect form in the win, and he could have had a hat-trick if it wasn’t for one of his efforts to cannon off the post.

He was at the heart of everything positive Villa managed to do on Wednesday evening, and the fans were suitably impressed with his performance.

Here’s what some of the Villa faithful had to say in light of the Scotsman’s dominant display in the win over Forest last night.
