Leeds United offloaded striker Marcus Antonsson on loan to League One side Blackburn Rovers back in August.

The Swedish striker arrived at Elland Road from Kalmar FF, where he had notched 22 goals in 41 appearances.

The Leeds faithful were expecting big things from the 26-year-old, but frankly, he was just a bit-part player for the Whites last season.

However, with Leeds only really utilising Pierre-Michel Lasogga as the main striker this season, and Jay-Roy Grot and Pawel Cibicki seemingly not the biggest fan favourites, should Antonsson feel hard done by being offloaded?

We take a look...

Alfie Burns

Absolutely – But it was hard to argue with Garry Monk’s handling of him last season.

Antonsson’s Leeds career got off to a magnificent start, but the Swedish striker’s performances looked tired towards the end of 2016 and Chris Wood’s magnificent form for Leeds justified his selection as the focal point of attack.

Thomas Christiansen clearly didn’t fancy Antonsson, but his impressive form for Blackburn so far could see a door open for him at Elland Road next year.

It’d be nice to see him given another opportunity.

Chris Gallagher

He's just not good enough!

The Swedish striker is struggling to score goals in League One with Blackburn so he won't be missed too much at Elland Road.

He looks a bad investment from the Yorkshire club and had just one goal from 16 games for the Championship club in the league.

Alfie Burns

I think it's been pretty fair.

The Swede didn't play loads of games but got into double figures for appearances and still didn't really impress.

He's only on loan at Blackburn, too, and so his Leeds future could still be salvaged.

I think he'll really have to knuckle down to try and do just that though.
