Luton Town have announced that they have agreed to mutually terminate the contract of manager Graeme Jones.
The Hatters are currently sat 23rd in the Championship table, and are six points adrift of safety with nine games remaining in this year’s campaign.
However, Luton have only been beaten once in their last five games in the second tier, which has seen them give themselves a fighting chance of survival this season.
Recent off-the-field events have brought an abrupt halt to that survival bid though, with no scheduled return date being finalised as of yet.
Jones was only appointed as Luton’s new manager back in the summer of 2019, as he replaced Mick Harford at Kenilworth Road, after he guided the Hatters to promotion last term from League One.
Plenty of Luton Town fans have taken to social media to express their shock at this recent announcement.
Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below….
He's not picked up any points in the last month, not really a shock

Why is anyone celebrating this? Whether you respect him as a manager or not, this shows that the club is facing some drastic financial difficulties

There has to be something more to this or at least a very very valid reason. Absolutely gutted
