Departing Swansea City midfielder Kees de Boer has taken to Twitter to send a farewell message ahead of his departure, which has left many fans of the club shocked and disappointed.

De Boer is set to leave the club at the end of the month after seeing his contract with the Swans expire.

The 20-year-old joined the club from Ajax in 2017, having developed through the Dutch club's reputable academy system.

Despite featuring regularly at U18 and U23 level, the midfielder made just one appearance for the senior side – coming on as a substitute in their EFL Cup victory against Northampton Town in August 2019.

With his contract set to expire in the next few days, the 20-year-old took to Twitter to send a farewell message to Swansea fans and to thank everyone that has helped and supporter him during his three-year tenure.

Recent reports have linked the 20-year-old with a move to Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag, who are reportedly keen on the midfielder.
