After their defeat to Fulham at the weekend, Blackburn Rovers made a quick return to winning ways on Tuesday night, with a 3-0 victory over Hull City at Ewood Park.

Three goals in seven second-half minutes were enough to secure all three points for Tony Mowbray's side, and lift them to eighth in the Championship table, three points off the play-off places.

While Adam Armstrong's latest long-range effort to make it 2-0 may have been the pick of the goals, it was Dominic Samuel's effort to make it 3-0 just minutes later, that was arguably the most of significant.

Samuel - who has made just four league appearances for Rovers since suffering an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury in August 2018 - pounced on a poor clearance from Hull 'keeper George Long, before rounding a defender and firing into the bottom corner to seal the three points for his side.

That was Samuel's first goal for Rovers since he netted a brace in an FA Cup clash with Crewe Alexandra back in December 2017, and it seems the importance of that goal to the striker was not lost on both his teammates and fans at the club.

Taking to Twitter after his goal and the end of the match, plenty were keen to pay tribute to Samuel following that individual breakthrough in midweek, and here, we've taken a look at what some of them had to say.
