With frustration growing at Elland Road, the lack of transfer activity has caused some unrest amongst the Leeds United faithful.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are expected to acquire a handful of new additions before the start of the new season, with at least one coming from an English top flight side.

Despite the news of new arrivals imminent, the Whites fans are still not happy that the arrival of a new centre back has not been mentioned.

Leeds United’s managing director Angus Kinnear has given the World Cup as the reason for a timid start to the transfer window, stating: “It’s slow, it’s a tough market and there are things that are slow because of the World Cup.

“But we expect things to speed up once people return from that. There’ll be bigger moves at other clubs which trigger moves we might be able to make.

“We want to get people into the squad as soon as we can but not at the expense of getting the right people.”

With the Leeds United fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of fresh faces at Elland Road, the reaction on Twitter has been somewhat sour to the transfer update.
