Preston North End
‘Absolutely class’, ‘Quality’ – Many Preston fans react to 21-year-old’s display v Reading

Preston North End were unable to make ground on the top-six following a goalless draw with Reading on Sunday afternoon.
Alex Neil’s men defeated Birmingham City in midweek, but were far from their best against the Royals, and were thankful that Lucas Joao squandered a late penalty or the Deepdale outfit might have suffered their eighth home loss of the campaign.
Victory would have seen the Lancashire outfit climb to eighth, which would’ve been their highest position of the campaign, but more significantly, just four points outside of the play-off places.
But whilst there were very few positives for Preston, the performance of on-loan Brighton man Jayson Molumby was definitely one of them.
Quiz: The top 16 Preston North End record player departures – Which club did they join though?
Molumby caught the eye following an outstanding season on loan with Millwall last term, and the former Lions midfielder has already featured in all three of Preston’s Championship matches since his arrival from the South Coast.
And after he turned in an impressive display against Reading, the Deepdale faithful reacted on Twitter to his performance:
You was class mate , wouldn’t mind breaking our transfer record on securing you in the future.. class act 👊🏻…

Like the look of the new lads, Molumby & Iverson in particular.
Let’s hope we can bring a couple more in during this window #pnefc— Frank Jamieson (@frankfuntime74) January 24, 2021
Impressed with Iversen, Whiteman and Molumby

Think a point there is a decent result. Penalty slightly dubious but Rafferty gives the official a decision to make. Molumby & Iversen both excellent again – they look like really shrewd loan business. #pnefc

Huntington is Man of the match for me. Won everything again! Molumby is a close second though #pnefc
