Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of defender Ryan Delaney on a permanent deal from League One rivals Rochdale.
Delaney, who made 57 appearances in all competitions for Rochdale after being signed by now-Bolton manager Keith Hill back in January 2018, spent the first half of this season on loan with another League One side in the shape of AFC Wimbledon, making a further 16 appearances during his time with the Dons.
Now however, Delaney is set to spend the foreseeable future at Bolton, after putting pen to paper on an 18-month contract with the Trotters, which is set to keep him at the club until the end of next season.
Wanderers have been bottom of the League One table throughout the course of the season following their 12-point deduction at the start of the season, and are currently 20 points from safety.
Taking to Twitter to react to news of the new recruit, there appeared to be a mixed response to Delaney’s arrival amongst a number of Bolton fans.
Here, we take a look at what some of them had to say.
Welcome to the club, Ryan.
Hope you can help us bounce back up the leagues. COYW! #bwfc
