Stoke City managed to secure back-to-back wins in the league at the weekend with a 2-0 win over Fulham, a result that lifted Nathan Jones' side off the bottom of the table.

The match was also significant as it marked the second match in a row that striker Tyrese Campbell has started for the Potters, and the 19-year-old rewarded his boss with the opening goal in the win over Fulham.

But has Campbell done enough to keep his spot in the Stoke City starting XI?

We discuss........

Liam Drury

"Tyrese Cambell has become a key member of Stoke City’s first-team squad following a loan spell with Shrewsbury Town last season, and he has started to make his mark in Nathan Jones’ side.

"Having netted at the weekend in Stoke’s 2-0 win over Fulham, Campbell played a vital role as the pressure was relieved on Stoke manager Jones for the time being and Campbell’s style of play was perfect to combat the Fulham defence.

"Campbell deserves to keep his spot in Stoke’s starting XI because of his performance on Saturday, with Jones possibly dropping the striker as being a move that could stir things up amongst the fan-base once again.

"Campbell has had a fine start to the season and he more than deserves a starting spot. If the young forward can keep up his good form and have a run in the side, then he could be a revelation for Nathan Jones this season."

Ben Lang

"Absolutely. Campbell has been waiting for his chance to impress in the starting line-up, and he's now taken it with both hands after his last two performances.

"He may have been expecting to start on the bench against Fulham, but Jones kept faith in the striker who repaid him by causing Fulham some serious problems in the first half.

"It would have been hard for Campbell to influence games from the bench this season, but he ran Fulham ragged from the start and produced a clinical finish to find the breakthrough.

"Campbell's impressive performance will now worsen Jones' selection headache regarding Campbell and Hogan, but the former did enough to retain his spot in the starting XI now."

Luke Phelps

"100%. Campbell caused Fulham all sorts of problems on Saturday, and looked to give Stoke a completely new dimension against Fulham with his pace.

"He could’ve and probably should’ve had a couple of goals on Saturday, but getting his first of the of the season and first in senior football for Stoke will give him loads of confidence.

"Tom Ince has been dropped for Stoke’s last two victories in place of Campbell, and they’ve looked a new team with the 19-year-old leading the line.

"His pace, willingness to chase the ball and to put the opposition defence under pressure got Stoke off to the better start on Saturday, and I expect him to start against Wednesday tomorrow night."
