Many Derby County fans have taken to Facebook to debate whether Louie Sibley should be given the chance to prove himself for the senior side on a regular basis between now and the end of the season.

The 18-year-old, who is a product of the Rams' youth academy, was handed his debut by manager Phillip Cocu last August in the club's League Cup clash with Scunthorpe United.

Since this particular fixture, Sibley has featured on five occasions in all competitions with his latest appearance coming during Derby's 4-2 victory over Northampton Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Used predominately at Under-23 level by the Rams, the midfielder has also lined up for the Under-19s in recent weeks in the UEFA Youth League.

Having inspired Derby to a 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in this particular competition by scoring against the German side, Sibley will be hoping to make some inroads at senior level in the coming weeks.

With Duane Holmes facing a race to be fit for the Rams' clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Friday, it will be intriguing to see whether Cocu opts to name Sibley in his match-day squad for this fixture.
