Leeds United missed out on promotion to the Premier League on Wednesday night, in perhaps the cruelest way possible.

Plenty expected Leeds to ease on through into the Sky Bet Championship play-off final, especially after Stuart Dallas' first half strike which put Marcelo Bielsa's side 2-0 up on aggregate.

But Frank Lampard's men came flying out of the blocks in the second half, with goals from Jack Marriott, Harry Wilson and Mason Mount securing a quite remarkable 4-3 win on aggregate for the Rams.

And now, all of a sudden, Leeds' season is over. Despite sitting at the summit of the Championship table for the vast majority of the campaign, the Yorkshire club will now be once again preparing for life in the second tier, with or without Bielsa.
