Birmingham City managed to build on consecutive wins against Swansea City and Middlesbrough with another victory against Bristol City last night, setting them on the right path for the remainder of the season.

Goals from Riley McGree, Scott Hogan and Gary Gardner sealed the three points for Lee Bowyer's men, performing admirably and securing an impressive result considering the Robins' away record this season.

Prior to this meeting, Nigel Pearson's men had won four of their seven league games on the road this term, helping to compensate for their poor form at Ashton Gate and with this, certainly would have fancied their chances to claim another three points tonight.

They would have also been full of confidence coming into this match after ending their winless run at home that lasted from January up until last weekend against Barnsley, when they managed to respond from a goal behind to claim a 2-1 victory against the Tykes.

However, home side Birmingham more than matched their opponents yesterday evening, scoring three goals and managing to keep a clean sheet.

The former was particularly impressive after failing to score in five consecutive games during a dark September/October period - but one key man at the back impressed for the Blues and he was singled out by fans for praise after the match.

That player was George Friend - and we take a look at some of the latest reaction on Twitter to his performance last night.
