Leeds United defender Ben White has kept the most clean sheets of any central defender in the Championship this season, which has drawn praise from many Whites fans.

White joined Leeds on a season-long loan from Brighton in the summer and was given the difficult job of replacing Pontus Jansson.

Jansson made 120 appearances across three seasons at Elland Road but was sold to Brentford in the summer.

White has stepped up to the task and excelled for the Whites, starting every Championship game, helping his side concede the fewest goals this season, and winning the PFA Fans' Player of the Month award for August.

Other than a few EFL Cup appearances for Brighton, the 22-year-old had never played above League One prior to this season but has settled in brilliantly and become a key player for Leeds.

He leads the side in average interceptions and clearances per game, averages the second-most tackles and the third-most blocks per game, and has the second-highest pass accuracy–86.7%–according to Whoscored.

On top of that, Liam Cooper's absence in Leeds 1-0 win over Birmingham City on Saturday means he has now kept more clean sheets than any other centre-back in the division (six), according to LUFCFanZone.

That fact appears to have gone down well with large parts of the Elland Road faithful and many Whites fans took to Instagram to show their appreciation for the defender.
