Huddersfield Town endured a difficult start to life back in the Championship on Monday night, as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to last season's beaten play-off finalists Derby County at the John Smith's Stadium.

It was Tom Lawrence who did much of the damage for the Rams, as he pounced on an error from Terriers debutant Tommy Elphick, to give Derby the lead.

It was a moment that Elphick will want to forget sooner rather than later, with the defender's loose pass off his chest leaving goalkeeper Kamil Grabara in no man's land, allowing Lawrence to loop the ball into an empty net.

Moments later, Lawrence doubled his side's lead later with a stunning strike from just outside the area, leaving Huddersfield with a mountain to climb to get back into the game.

Karlan Grant did pull one back for Jan Siewert's side on the half-hour mark from the penalty spot, but despite a sustained spell of pressure after the break, the Terriers were unable to find an equaliser, leaving them with nothing to show for their efforts on their first game back in the second tier.

Following that error, it was Elphick who came under a particular amount of scrutiny from Huddersfield fans after the match, with many unimpressed by the performance of their new summer signing.

Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
