Swansea City forward Borja Baston continued his fast start to the season by scoring a fourth goal in four games last night and many fans of the club were left ecstatic by his performance.

The Swans beat QPR 3-1 at Loftus Road, with Baston making it 2-1 in the 70th minute via the penalty spot.

Previously labeled a ‘flop’, the 25-year-old has scored four goals in four games in the Championship and is currently joint top-scorer alongside Charlton Athletic’s Lyle Taylor.

Baston joined Swansea from Atletico Madrid in August 2016 for a club-record fee of £15 million but prior to this season has scored just one goal in 20 appearances for the Welsh club.

The forward has spent the last two seasons away from the club on loan at Malaga and Alaves.

With Oli McBurnie moving to Sheffield United this summer, there was an opportunity for the Spaniard to prove the doubters wrong under new boss Steve Cooper and fill the void left by the Scotsman.

The early indications are that he may be able to do just that as Baston is averaging a goal a game after starting every Championship game this season.

The real test will be in whether the 25-year-old can score consistently for the Swans over the whole season.

He seems to have won over large parts of the Liberty Stadium faithful, as many Swansea fans were full of praise for him following his goal last night.
