Leeds United slipped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of QPR at Loftus Road this afternoon, in a game which has left many Whites fans furious at the referee’s decision to allow a controversial goal.

The Whites arrived in West London having not won in the nation’s capital since December 2017 and their dismal form in the region continued today.

In a wild, end-to-end affair that saw the visitors miss a penalty and go down to 10-men, Nahki Wells’ first-half goal proved the decisive moment.

Ebere Eze’s free-kick deflected off Luke Ayling’s head and into the path of Wells, who calmly slotted it into the back of the net.

The ball clearly struck the QPR striker’s hand in the build-up to the goal but referee waved away Leeds’ protests.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side may feel hard done by as they also had a strong penalty appeal turned down early in proceedings, when Helder Costa went down under the challenge of Lee Wallace.

Leeds can have little issue with the red card, however, as Kalvin Phillips caught Geoff Cameron with a nasty, high challenge and was deservedly given his marching orders.
