Barnsley have confirmed that Lloyd Isgrove has completed his move across League One, with the winger set to spend the rest of the season on loan with Portsmouth.

Isgrove has struggled for opportunities this season under Daniel Stendel, with the 26-year-old managing just six appearances for the Tykes.

Coincidently, Isgrove’s last appearance for Barnsley came against Pompey, with the winger stepping off the bench during December’s 1-1 draw.

The winger is formerly of Southampton, but is now back on the South Coast with Portsmouth, who he will be looking to help back to the Championship.

Pompey are in promotion contention, along with Barnsley, something that’s made this transfer seem strange to some Tykes fans.

Whilst many feel it’s good business for the Yorkshire club to conduct, others aren’t convinced by Barnsley loaning Isgrove to a direct rival.
