Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has been hit with a one-game ban following his comments about a match official following the Whites' 1-1 draw with Brentford earlier in the month.

Marcelo Bielsa's side were outraged after referee Jeremy Simpson awarded the Bees a penalty after Ollie Watkins appeared to throw himself towards Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

That's certainly how Jansson saw it, with the Swedish international calling it a 'robbery' in an emotional post-match interview.

And, the Yorkshire club have now revealed that he has been hit with an immediate one-game ban - meaning he will miss tomorrow's game with Ipswich.

Leeds have reluctantly accepted the charge, explaining that it's 'due to the fact that the club sees no value in making an appeal.'

To make matters worse for the club's supporters, Brentford winger Sergi Canos did not face any FA punishment from the same game, despite seeming to headbutt Ezgjan Alioski.

Given that, it's fair to say the supporters were not happy with this announcement.

Here's how they reacted on Twitter...
