Cardiff City are set to sell Callum Paterson to Sheffield Wednesday for a fee in the region of £500,000 according to Yorkshire Live's Dom Howson.

Paterson has been with the club since 2017, when he signed from Scottish side Heart of Midlothian.

He has gone on to make 106 appearances for the Bluebirds, and has chipped in with 21 goals in his time with the club to date.

The forward made 42 appearances for Cardiff last season, as they narrowly missed out on promotion into the Premier League, after a defeat to Fulham in their play-off semi-final.

Paterson hasn't featured at all in the 2020/21 season though, which dropped a sizeable hint that his future could be elsewhere, with a move to Sheffield Wednesday seemingly imminent.

He'll sign for Garry Monk's side, who are clearly keen to add to their attacking options, with Jordan Rhodes being the only recognised senior striker at this moment in time.

Plenty of Cardiff City supporters took to social media to voice their frustrations over the fee agreed for Paterson.
