Plenty of Stoke City fans have taken to social media to react to defender Cameron Carter-Vickers' performance against West Bromwich Albion last night.

Stoke's poor start to the season continued, as they missed the chance to move off the bottom of the Championship table with a 2-0 defeat at the bet365 Stadium.

West Brom took the lead in the eighth minute when Matt Phillips turned in Grady Diangana's cross the far post.

Stoke never really recovered from their early setback and things went from bad to worse from them midway through the second half, when Carter-Vickers handed the visitors the chance to wrap up the three points by giving away a penalty.

With West Brom ace Diangana through on goal, the on-loan Spurs defender sent him absolutely flying with a reckless last-ditch challenge.

Referee Tim Robinson had no choice but to award the penalty, which was scored by Hal-Robson Kanu to make it 2-0 to the visitors, ensuring that they returned to the top of the table while Stoke remain bottom.

After the game, plenty of Stoke supporters took to social media to react to Carter-Vickers' performance against West Brom and it's fair to say that many fans were far from impressed with his display.
