Sheffield Wednesday were eliminated from the League Cup last night after they fell to defeat by the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Premier League side ran out 2-0 winners over their Championship counterparts at Hillsborough on Tuesday night.

Jos Luhukay made wholesale changes to his side for the cup tie with the whole 11 from the win over Ipswich Town at the weekend swapped out for players who did not feature.

The Owls opted for a 3-5-2 formation to combat the system Nuno Santo deployed for his Wolves side.

It was a disappointing evening, however, as the team from the top flight ran out comfortable winners thanks to two second-half goals from Leo Bonatini and Helder Costa.

Morgan Fox was making just his second appearance of the season at the heart of the Owls’ defence and had an evening to forget in cup defeat.

The defender had previously only featured in the one-all draw again Hull City three weeks ago and gave away the penalty for the decisive second goal of the night as well as being at fault for the opener.

With that said, here’s how the Sheffield Wednesday supporters reacted to the performance of Fox in Tuesday’s League Cup defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
