‘Absolute class’, ‘Worth the wait’ – Plenty of Bristol City fans praise player in win over Peterborough

Bristol City got back to winning ways as they came from behind to beat Peterborough at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday.ย

Nigel Pearson’s side made it hard work for themselves as they continued their impressive away form at Peterborough.

The Robins found themselves 1-0 down after 22 minutes as their former attacker Sammie Szmodics gave his former team a glimpse into what they might be missing with a thunderous shot from the edge of the area.

An own goal from Nathan Thompson and a tidy finish from right-back George Tanner got Bristol City ahead before Sammie Szmodics equalised two minutes before halftime.

But Chris Martin gave Bristol City the win in the 84th minute with an emphatic finish after good work from Joe Williams.

It was a big three points for Bristol City who continue to hover around the top half but it was midfielder Joe Williams who caught the eye of supporters.

The midfielder has had a difficult period at Ashton Gate since his arrival from Wigan last summer, but the midfielder showed exactly what he’s capable of in what was his second start for the Robins.

Here’s what supporters have been saying on Twitter after his performance.
