Nottingham Forest supporters have been suggesting that Lewis Grabban is the best striker in the Championship, following his match winning display in the Reds’ 2-0 win at Hull City.

The win ended a five match winless run for Sabri Lamouchi’s side which had seen them drop out of the play-off paces in the Championship and lose some of the momentum they had built up during the first few months of the campaign.

Grabban, who has been Forest’s most reliable goalscoring outlet throughout the first half of the season, was again instrumental for the Reds, with the forward calmly converting from the penalty spot in the 11th minute to give the visitors an early lead as they looked to secure a much-needed three points.

Hull began to control possession more after the break, but the hosts struggled to really break down Forest’s defence, and the Reds were able to seal the game on the counter, with Grabban again supplying a clinical finish to the end of a flowing counter attack from Lamouchi’s side to double their lead eight minutes from time and secure the three points.

Those two goals means Grabban has now netted 12 goals in 23 appearances for the Reds so far this campaign, with only three payers in the division having scored more than the 31-year-old , and the striker will be key to whether Forest can mount a successful promotion bid this term.
