Huddersfield Town manager Jan Siewert has been busy in the transfer market this summer, as he looks to prepare a side capable of a return to the English top-tier.

Though there have been a number of new arrivals at the John Smith's Stadium as yet there has not been the expected interest in midfielder Aaron Mooy moving the other way, with Watford the only side to have been linked with the Australian international since the end of the season, as reported on Examiner Live.

So with a lack of concrete interest, can you see Mooy staying at Huddersfield next season?

We discuss........

Tommy Joyce

"It will be difficult for Huddersfield to keep hold of Aaron Mooy, but if no Premier League - or top division European side - go in for him, then they could have him next season.

"While Mooy's season last year didn't match his first in the Premier League, he is a vital component of this Huddersfield side and would be really dangerous in the Championship.

"With Mooy at 28 he will probably really want that big move, but he might not have proved himself enough last season.

"It might take a few signings to draw Mooy away from Huddersfield; For example, if Doucouré was taken from Watford then it could force them to find a suitable replacement, and Mooy could fit the bill."

Kealan Hughes

“It is surprising that so far there are no offers for Mooy. Over the last three years he has largely been a great player for The Terriers despite their terrible form since promotion to the Premier League.

“It is very doubtful that he will stay as he is a complete midfielder, and would get into most sides - even those in the top half. He has shown he is way too good for the Championship and although he has seemingly enjoyed his spell in Yorkshire it would be a surprise if he doesn’t ask to leave.

“There could be a stumbling block however, and that is how much he will cost. Huddersfield will want to recoup the £8m they spent on him but since he is now 29 there won’t be too many suitors.

“Despite that, £8m for a combative midfielder who can create and score is a bargain in the current market. He has showed consistency at the top level so wouldn’t be a gamble either, and therefore there should be interest in him over the next few weeks.”

George Brooks

"I wouldn't be surprised to see Mooy remain at Huddersfield Town next season and that would have to be considered a massive boost for the Terriers.

"Mooy has been an important player for Huddersfield over the past few seasons and was instrumental during their promotion-winning campaign.

"The midfielder could have another important role to play in the Championship next season, if he decides to remain at the club this summer.

"Mooy has one year remaining on his contract at Huddersfield and he may feel that his story at the club is not finished yet.

"He could be prepared to stay at the club for another season and help the team try to win promotion.

"There's always a possibility that things could change and a rival club could come in with an offer for him this summer, but as there's not much interest in him at the moment, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him remain at Huddersfield next season."
