Huddersfield Town have come under heavy fire over their new home kit, but key man Aaron Mooy has an

In a somewhat brave Instagram post the Australian came out in defence of the kit, stating the "new kit is lovely", much to the surprise of his followers.

Since its unveiling yesterday the kit has gone viral, with the name of the club's sponsor plastered across the shirt in bold letters in a sash-like design.

Fans of all teams have reacted negatively, which means Mooy's stance is quite a shock if he doesn't mean in tongue-in-cheek.

Teammate Danny Williams cheekily responded by asking "What's the sponsor mate?" - such is its dominance of the entire shirt. Many people thought the kit announcement was a joke or a publicity stunt, and it appears the players have taken to it with good spirits too.

The Verdict

Like the kit, it is difficult to know what to make of Mooy's comment. It is difficult to believe that he finds the kit lovely, as he would be in a very small minority if he does, and it is more likely that he is joking around too with his followers.

Of course all that is important is how the players play in the new strip, and Town fans will likely be pleased with any kit as long as players like Mooy remain at the club.

It may take getting used to for some fans and the players too, as it is unlike any kit seen before.
