‘A World Cup place is still achievable’ – Aston Villa fans set star man lofty goal following injury return

Aston Villa are flying high towards the top of the league table, with Steve Bruce’s men sitting comfortably in fifth place approaching the halfway stage of the season.

Following a dismal first year at this level, Bruce has rallied his squad for a sustained promotion push this term, and it appears that his men are rising to the challenge.

Three wins from their past four, Villa are in a good run of form, and will look to get back to winning ways this weekend when they entertain Millwall, following last week’s draw at Leeds United.

Seven points from an automatic promotion spot, victory over the struggling Lions is essential, and Bruce will expect his side to emerge from the encounter with the points.

Winger Jack Grealish took to Twitter to declare his excitement ahead of the game, with the youngster nearing a return to full-fitness following an extended injury lay-off.

Grealish has made just four appearances from the bench this term, but will be pushing for a start against Neil Harris’ side, and the opportunity to show Bruce what he can add to the team this season.

Fans took to Twitter to respond to Grealish’s message, with many hoping to see the academy graduate take to the field this weekend…
