Aston Villa will be eager to see the January window come around so they can seal some deals in order to strengthen their squad.

Despite already having a decent number of players, Villa have been struck badly by injuries and poor form from some and they have been doing well to ensure that hasn't impacted their top six challenge too much.

They should still be in touch, at least, come the opening of the transfer window next week, then, and fans will be hoping that they can sign some players to boost them for 2018.

FFP might shackle them a bit but they can still seal some deals and so, with that in mind, here are two players we reckon Villa should try to bring in ASAP...

 Leonardo Ulloa

Leicester might want to keep him as a back-up option but the striker must be getting fed-up of not getting opportunities with the Foxes.

He still has plenty to offer for the right club and with his Championship experience he'd be ideal for a club like Villa.

This makes even more sense when you consider the lack of forward options Villa have at this present time.

 Sam Johnstone

Perhaps not a new face for Villa fans to get excited about but certainly one the club needs to keep around.

The Manchester United 'keeper has done well on loan at Villa Park this season and is a favourite with the Villa faithful.

The club needs to try and get a permanent deal sorted for him as soon as possible, then, as there are a few Premier League clubs sniffing around.
